  1. Michael Morrison Says:

New party candidates getting ANY endorsements is good news. Thanks for the info.
Two points: In 1994, Libertarian Brooke King got the endorsement of both Albuquerque newspapers in his bid for a legislative seat, but surely this is the first time a Libertarian got a two-paper endorsement for Congress.
Second, I don’t believe the Jackson Free Press qualifies as a “large newspaper.” The “large” paper in Jackson is the Clarion Ledger, once a pretty good paper, but now owned by Gannett … which spells doom for quality.
Keep up the excellent work, Richard.

  2. Joshua Says:

Julie Samuels, Green Party candidate for the Illinois House, 8th district, has been endorsed by the Chicago Tribune and the Chicago Sun-Times.

  3. Eric Prindle Says:

A few more Green newspaper endorsees (and I assume this is for partisan candidates only):

San Francisco Bay Guardian: Terry Baum and Pat Gray for U.S. Representative, Districts 8 and 12, California

Fort Collins Coloradoan: Robert Kinsey for U.S. Representative, District 4, Colorado

Hartford Courant: Thomas Sevigny for State Senator, District 8, Connecticut

Portland Press-Herald: Elizabeth Trice for State Representative, District 116, Maine

  4. Mark Miller Says:

Baltimore Sun endorsed Glenn L. Ross, the Green Party’s candidate in Baltimore City Council District 13.

The Baltimore City Paper (which, although not a large national daily like the Sun, does have wide local circulation) endorsed several other Green candidates this year in Baltimore.
