Today, the electoral college members met in their respective state capitols. One of the Minnesota Democratic electors voted for John Edwards for president instead of voting for John Kerry.
West Virginia elector Richie Robb cast his vote for President Bush, failing to fulfil his promise to vote for someone else.
Now John Kerry has truly followed in Michael Dukakis’ footsteps.
Was this elector just stupid or what? He voted for Edwards for BOTH president AND vice president. If he was making a statement he even blew that! Was his name Chad by any chance? He just left us dangling!
the WV guy didn’t promise to vote for someone else. he just said he was thinking about it. later he said he would in fact vote for Bush.
I think it would be cool if a Bush elector voted for Michael Peroutka or Badnarik. Then a real 3rd Party would finally get some media attention.
As for the matter of discussion, I suspect the Minnesota elector voted for Edwards by accident.
