One bill changes the definition of a major political party for purposes of campaign finance law to include any party that runs a certain number of candidates for office. I have not had much luck trying to get a bill introduced that would extetnd the time period that a ballot access law petition could be circulated. As I understand it now, it is a two week period in the summer, when it should be extended two at least when college students are on campus. Two Minnesota legislative bills might be of some interest.
