Remember when he said during the debate, “I feel like I am at a ping-pong match.”

I also remember two instances from the debate.

The first one when he said “Who am I? Why am I here?”

The other one was when, after a heated exchange between Gore and Quayle, the moderator asked Stockdale a question and he asked the moderator to repeat it because he had taken off his hearing aid.

  3. Steve Rankin Says:

In the 1992 debate with Dan Quayle and Al Gore, Admiral Stockdale’s first line was, “Who am I? Why am I here?”

Ironically, in 1996, Stockdale was a delegate from California to the Republican National Convention in San Diego.

  4. Michael Skaggs Says:

If he and Perot had just stayed in instead of leaving the race for those three months of July, August, and September of 1992, I believe Perot and Stockdale would have deadlocked the election.
