On December 10, the Oregon Democratic Party state committee narrowly rejected a proposal to invite registered independents to vote in the Democratic primary.
One Response to “Oregon Democrats Won’t Let Independents Vote in their Primary”
I was recently told that I could not vote in Kentucky’s primary elections because I was registered as “Independent”. I think that this violates my constitutional right to exercise my voting franchise, and I am consulting an attorney regarding this. Others who feel this way may contact me by e-mail to discuss this.
If the term “Independent” is considered a political party, then this is a matter of semantics. I should be allowed to register as “Undetermined” since there is not political party by that name.
