3-Way General Election Poll

June 21st, 2007

On June 21, SurveyUSA released a poll of hypothetical general election presidential match-ups, including Mike Bloomberg, for 16 states. The entire survey included 500 voters in each of the 16 states, or a total of 8,000 voters. Every combination for these five major party candidates was tested: Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Rudy Giuliani, Fred Thompson, and Mitt Romney. The poll is here. Bloomberg’s highest showing was 29% in New York state if the major party nominees were Romney and Obama. The results in general show a likely Democratic Party win, in a 3-way race.

It would be extremely interesting if Bloomberg were to take a few states. It would open up the electoral college.

  2. Jack Says:

    The Republicans are fucked!!

  3. Phil Sawyer Says:

Michael Bloomberg does not have the political base to run an effective independent campaign for president. He should have joined the Green Party of the United States rather than register as unaffiliated. Furthermore, he is not even a candidate yet. The longer that he waits to make a decision the more difficult that it is going to be to obtain ballot status in all the political jurisdictions in this country.

  4. Michael Says:

One of the races leaves out one factor. Rudy vs Hillary vs Mike will lead to the Constitution Party nominating Alan Keyes and the pro-life and conservative vote, 5-10 percent, will go to him, and it will change the possibilities of who takes which state even more.

  5. Phil Sawyer Says:

Alan Keyes is currently not an announced candidate for president.

  6. Michael Says:

The website Politics1 has said he’s been dropping hints he might run and there’s a lot of people in the Constitution Party who are pushing him to be a candidate.
