Senator Dodd Did Not File Petitions to be on New York Democratic Primary Ballot

Senator Chris Dodd of Connecticut did not file to be on the New York Democratic presidential primary. 5,000 signatures are required for Democrats in New York. The six Democrats who did file in New York are Biden, Clinton, Edwards, Kucinich, Obama and Richardson.

  1. Way to go Dodd. Move to Iowa and prove you do not care about the people who elected you and miss over a third of the votes proving you are not doing your job then don’t file one of the biggest states. Please stay in Iowa.

  2. It’s possible he just wasn’t able to mobilize the volunteers or staffers in NY to collect the signatures. I live in NY, and have been participating in the petitioning process since it began 10/31. Even volunteering for Obama, there were many districts were significant, persistent volunteer efforts were required to collect the required signatures. More specifically, you actually need 500 signatures from registered democrat residents from each congressional district, besides the numerous statewide signatures. Those CD specific petitions were very difficult, even in NYC working for one of the top candidates.
