		<description>Well, actually a lot of parties qualify in Vermont. In the 2008 gubernatorial race, 7 parties had candidates on the ballot. Trent Hill is right, whether or not there are many conservatives in Vermont. The answer probably depends on what you mean by conservatives.</description>

There are somewhat more than you might think, they are just widely dispersed. The far-left, ultra-progressive element which dominates in Vermont these days is pretty heavily comprised of people with roots from out-of-state; native Vermonters by nature are rather conservative in temperament, if not necessarily in politics.</description>
