N.H. Republican Party Won’t Co-Sponsor Exclusionary Republican Debate

January 5th, 2008

According to this story, the New Hampshire Republican Party has withdrawn its sponsorship of the January 6 presidential debate in that state. The co-sponsor is Fox News. Five presidential candidates were invited into that debate: Giuliani, Huckabee, McCain, Romney, and Thompson. Since Ron Paul polled more than twice as many votes in Iowa as Giuliani, the exclusion of Ron Paul seems irrational. Fox News has been inundated with complaints. The Fox News person in charge is Terri Everett, phone 212-852-7070. UPDATE: Here is the Republican Party’s statement, posted on its own website.

Thanks to Tony Roza for the news about the Republican Party’s decision to withdraw its sponsorship.

Thanks for the number Richard. Just called, and Ms. Everette’s voice mail box was full…imagine that!

And thanks mullah cimoc…any chance that you (or anyone else) can provide fax numbers for FOX and/or their advertisers?

  6. Gregg Jocoy Says:

fchecker@tribune.com and vester@foxnews.com do not work. If I encounter more unusable addresses I’ll post them here. I am sending one at a time, each different, and I’d suggest doing likewise if you are going to do this. Many people have spam software to delete mailings which go to more than one person.

Also, since I imagine they are getting a TON of email on this topic, it might be a good idea to avoid using words they might use to weed out we “complainers”, so instead of “Ron Paul” you might use “Texas Congressman” or “10% Ron” or “Forth Place Paul”, instead of “Debate” in your subject line, use “Forum” or “Discourse”…just ideas.

    scott@foxnews.com is broken.

    neither did kirtz@foxnews.com

    letters@rollcall.com sez “no such user”

I started at the bottom and worked up to “kennedy@foxnews.com”. I’ll do more a bit later, but for the moment, I’m done. :-)

I am sure glad we do not have to watch this Fox force fed bull____ here in Canada. This only confirms to your neighbors that alot of the issues dragging down the U.S. today is being caused and supported by the corporate facist regimes, and not the good people of the U.S.A.

This will backfire as I do not believe New Hampshire will tolerate the exclusion of a legitimate candidate.

  9. Greg Georgas Says:

Its a sad thing when we have come to the point that the Republican party that is hosting the primary has no say in who gets a say in the primary…everyone shouyld think very hard about this and being a moderate Republican I believe Ron Paul to be in the right and I will vote for him
