Mainstream Media is Slow to Report Constitution Party Result

April 26th, 2008

Two hours after Chuck Baldwin defeated Alan Keyes for the Constitution Party nomination, no mainstream media has yet posted this news to a web page, not even the Kansas City press (the convention is in Kansas City). The only media that has reported it so far is Lew Rockwell.com, ThirdPartyWatch and this site. UPDATE: The Kansas City Star has now publicized the outcome; see this.

  1. Bill Says:

Do you think that one reason for that may be that Alan Keyes didn’t win, making this a minor story in comparison for the Corporate Media (not sure one can say mainstream anymore)?

  2. Braden Says:

I noticed the Keyes forum is already pulling out the race card, suggesting all Ron Paul/Chuck Baldwin/CP supporters are white supremacists.

Whoever the gentleman was that predicted this, good eye.

  3. WILL BATES Says:

    IS ANYONE SURPRISED?

  4. Deran Says:

Other than to rub Keyes’ face in another lost campaign, I can’t imagine why the MSM would cover the CP nomination? Chuck Baldwin?! Another 150,000 vote year for the CP!

Takimag.com has a guy who is at the convention.

The lack of MSM coverage is one reason why third parties get so little traction in the US.

  6. Trent Hill Says:

The MSM would likely have not noticed either way.
