To rah62:
A fellow named Saul, from the town of Tarsus, used to lead gangs to beat up and even kill Christians.
He was known to be pretty vehemently anti-Christian.
One day, taking a trip to Damascus, he had an epiphany.
He not only changed his name, he became the strongest and most famous Christian, urging others to join him.
He even became a saint, known these days as Saint Paul.
May I politely and respectfully suggest — urge — you read Bob Barr’s latest writings and listen to his words at the recent convention?
He is not anti-gay or pro-drugwar any more.

rah62 – You really think with Ruwart’s position on child pornography that she would be an asset for the LP in the election? If she wasn’t totally ignored by the mainstream press, the only mention she would get is when they keep bringing up the fact that she is the candidate that supports the legalization of child porn. That would be an albatross around the LP’s neck for years to come.

I for one will not unite behind this anti-gay right-wing cretin who was a Republican until fairly recently. We helped defeat that miserable little man and booted him out of Congress, and to have taken him in and given him our nomination is a disaster of epic proportions. To have shunned a woman who has done legendary work year after year on behalf of our movement is depressing but not surprising. The LP has taken the celebrity bait – and I for one will not be surprised when, in a year or two, Bob Barr abandons the LP, goes back to the GOP, and bad-mouths us for the rest of his life.
