Cindy Sheehan Certified for Ballot as Independent Against Pelosi
August 11th, 2008San Francisco election officials today certified Cindy Sheehan for the November ballot against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. She had to get 10,198 signatures. Officials said she turned in 214 more than she needed.
Sheehan is the first independent House candidate to qualify for the California ballot since 1996. California’s requirement for independent candidates for U.S. House is the 4th most difficult in the nation (only Georgia, Illinois, and North Carolina have more severe requirements). She has the endorsement of the local Peace and Freedom Party and Green Party.

1] and endorsed by the [not SoS recognized] Reform Party of California, again, as blocked by the ousted John Blare cabal.
2] and certified by the skin of her teeth. Political drama in the 21st Century!

Apparently a lot of people disagree with Cindy Sheehan, but I believe she is honest, which puts her on a higher moral level than Pelosi, and she is opposed to the war in Iraq, which puts her on a higher moral and practical level than Pelosi or any potential Republican.
Even voters in San Francisco need more choices than what they usually get from the two old parties.

She should take Mr. Lake up on his Reform Party endorsement. It may be coming from a raving lunatic–but the Reform Party of California has 50,000+ members.

Ah, Trent Hill, snarkie smear master: and it also broadens her base. As for reformers meekly following party recommendations…..
So what is your back ground in human behavior, besides a Dennis the Menance attitude toward adults?

Mr. Lake,
I am an adult, thanks. I can also speak unbroken English–you should give it a shot.

This is great news that she will be on the ballot. Hopefully she will beat that pathetic, spineless Nancy Pelosi.

Go Cindy!
August 12th, 2008 at 7:17 pm
Did she require 10,000 signatures even with the nomination of ballot-qualified parties?
August 12th, 2008 at 8:10 pm
She had the endorsement of those parties, not the nominations.

I grew up in Baltimore with Nasty Nancy’s family..I really can’t understand why the media doesn’t expose her and her family in politics and how corrupt they really are
