Democratic Delegates from Michigan, Florida to be Seated
August 24th, 2008On August 24, the Credentials Committee of the Democratic National Convention voted to seat the full Florida and Michigan delegations. The vote was unanimous. Thus ends an intraparty struggle that spawned three federal lawsuits in Florida. Thanks to PoliticalWire for this news.

So what is the new delegate count?

Obama would have won either way, even if 100% of the Clintonites voted against him. Of course, it is already moot because Clinton endorsed him.
What is more interesting is that Dennis Kucinich received more popular votes and caucus votes during the primary than Joe Biden did. Both dropped out of the race early.

…and ensures that the primary season will start next time in the fall of 2011.

“Obama would have won either way.” That’s the key. If seating those two states had put the outcome in doubt, then they would NOT have been seated.
(Call me jaded!)

This is totaly unfair!!!! They agreed to forfeit those delegates when the moved their primary up.
This is going to lead future primaries to be all over the calendar. How could the Convention Credentiaals Committee allow this?

The question now is “When will the first 2012 Primary be held?”
