On September 3, New Hampshire Libertarians turned in enough signatures to place Bob Barr, and also to place Susan Newell (the party’s gubernatorial candidate), on the ballot. In New Hampshire, and also Massachusetts and Maine, petitions are submitted to town clerks. Then, town clerks validate the signatures. Then, the petitioning candidate or group must physically collect them and deliver them to the Secretary of State. Enough validated signatures were turned in to the Secretary of State.

Does this mean that the Barr campaign will stop it’s efforts to steal George Phillies honestly earned spot on the ballot?
I hope so, as it will be really nice for NH to have a chance to vote for a Libertarian…

George Phillies should not be on the ballot. I hope we keep pursuing it. George got on the ballot for the eventual nominee of the Party. Just because he has sour grapes that he doesn’t like Barr doesn’t give him the ominpower to flick his middle finger to the Libertarian Party.
This is really good news. Even though I’m now supporting both Barr/Root AND McCain/Palin, now that Palin has been added to the GOP ticket, I’m still happy that Barr made the NH ballot.
There are many Libertarians who will not vote for the GOP at the top of the ticket. Let’s hope Barr being on in NH will at least get a few extra votes for libertarian-leaning Republican John Sununu for US Senate.

so come election time I want to see that magic trick in seeing you vote for both Barr and McCain.

I am sure Richard has a high acuracy rate…. but that doesn’t justify prying my cold cash from my tight fists yet.
The Secretary of State will put Bob Barr on the list of candidates (on the Secretary’s web page) after his staff uses an adding machine to get the statewide total of signatures already verified by the various towns. The Libertarians who collected all the signatures from the various town clerks already added up the numbers of valid signatures from each town; that’s how it is known there are enough valid signatures.

Agreed. George Phillies should not be on the ballot. He has betrayed his fellow Libertarians by pursuing this egotistical but damaging campaign.
I’m not aware of any evidence that George Phillies’ insistence on staying on the ballot even though he is not the nominee is egotistically driven. It may or not be. However, there is no question that it is injurious to the Libertarian Party.
If both Barr and Phillies are listed on the ballot as Libertarians (which should be the case unless the suit brought jointly by Barr/LP/LPNH is successful), then I expect Barr will receive more votes than Phillies.
It is very disappointing that Phillies has not joined the suit for substitution in NH. Perhaps it’s not too late to do the right thing. I expect most LP members would forgive Phillies if he were to join the suit for substitution. I would.

Say what you like about Eric Dondero, but he and his associates did a heck of a job getting the LP ticket onto the ballot in New England. Even if he does backslide and end up voting for McCain/Prickley, he deserves credit and thanks for that.

Barr polls around 10% in NH, and most are libertarian leaning Republicans, not anti-war Democrats.
It’s absolutely absurd that NH will put two Libertarians on the ballot — Phillies and Barr. Can you imagine them doing that to the Dems — putting Obama AND Hillary on the ballot?
the NH SOS is now displaying that Barr is on the ticket. So Barr has gotten his donation and the comments section mentions the NH team and Eric Dondero.
If you average the number of times a Libertarian has been on the presidential ballot in nh over the last two cycles it works out to one per presidential election
