He finished ahead of Brian Moore in Idaho. The Santa Claus recieving the votes is a Santa from Incline Village, Nevada.. who is clearly benefiting from his name (kind of like write-in candidate John Kennedy from 2004) Santa got official write-in status in West Virginia, so let's see how many candidates he beats there. Santa Claus won 6 write-ins in Idaho and 3 write-ins in Montana. He finished ahead of Brian Moore in Idaho.
