The US isn't moving towards Communism or Fascism. The Democrats want us to look more like Canada, yeah, that's really scaring, shaking in my boots.

Both "major parties" in the USA are leaning towards "fascism" or more appropriately "corporatism", which is a blending of the government and business.

Look up the dictionary definition of communism.

Look at the Donkey Platforms since 1932.

2008-2009 -- banks taken over by the regime, car companies taken over by the regime (after the chaos caused by the regime deficits and low-low interest rates for decades).

Health stuff trying to be taken over.

Not much left to be taken over -- and destroyed -- as in the communist public schools and many inner city regimes -- now rapidly breaking down.

It is really easy to be a jealous communist and take over the assets and income of OTHER persons -- to spend on various irrational economic schemes.

See the collapse of the old U.S.S.R. communist regime -- 1917-1991 -- after a whole lot of mass murders [Staln purges in the 1930s], slavery, irrational spending, etc.

Can NOT happen in the U.S.A. ??? -- yeah, sure -- with the NUTCASE Donkey safe seat gerrymander leftwing extremists in the gerrymander Congress.

NO time for fanatic STATISTS. Democracy NOW.

A minor correction-The other party referred to is the Bloq Quebecois, not the Blog Quebecois. "Bloq" is French for "block", as in group, while "Blog" is French for "blog". They support Quebec independence, which leads some Canadians to question why they sit in the Parliament of what they wish would be a foreign country, namely Canada.

As for communist, for all too many Americans these days, like Demo Rep, it simply means "anything I haven't thought about, but don't like for vague reasons".

Labour might associate them with the British Labour Party which is to the right of them politically and has lost ground.

Perhaps I read the article too fast but what are they proposing for the new name? Simply "Democratic Party"? I would think they might want to consider Labour or Progressive (NOT Progressive Conservative!) or as a previous poster already suggested Social Democratic.

Demo Rep, could you tell me what exactly is communist about the Democrat Party? I consider them a right-wing conservative party, myself. And relate to me how they are real communist, not the libertarian interpretation of communism.

It would be interesting to learn how much of this name change idea is ideological in nature. As in; those seeking a more mainstream sounding name what to have the party move from the Left to the Center, like the US Democratic Party.
