Given his attempts to hijack the Reform Party, and the innumerable lawsuits that followed, MacKay is not "a good man." Not to mention, his party is a joke. A real political party NOMINATES candidates. MacKay simply endorses Republicans. Ron Paul, McCain, etc.

The real problem is, he sometimes does so under the Reform Party banner, which he has no legal authority to do. In 2008, he claimed that he was "Chairman" of the RPUSA, which he isn't, and claimed the Reform Party had "endorsed" John McCain.

In reality, they were running their own candidate, Mr.Ted Weill, a sweet fellow who I had the pleasure of interviewing.

Abolish moronic special elections with the standard evil party hack machinations.

Have the candidate or incumbent choose a replacement using rank order lists.

P.R. and nonpartisan A.V.

hello ,To Green Party Fan: No, MacKay is not a good man. He has to personally approve every upstate congressional candidate or they can’t get on the ballot. Very undemocratic.

To Deemer: No, there will not be any official notices posted at the polling places. Other candidates could put up notices outside if they want but they must be at least 100 feet away from the entrance.

Scozzafava should have never entered this race. You've got to either believe you're the best candidate, and campaign until the end that way, or you've got to not run.

Clearly, she'll probably have a fair number of votes depending on how many absentee voters have already mailed in their ballot. I would expect that most or nearly all of them are likely to be quite annoyed with this turn of events. They must be steaming to see their vote being "wasted" several days before the election. Also, Richard will there be any notices posted at the various precincts about the fact that Scozzafava has essentially withdrawn from the race?
