California Likely to Hold 3-Party Special Legislative Election on January 12, 2010

TheCalifornia Assembly seat, 72nd district, is currently vacant. The district is in northern Orange County and is considered safely Republican. On November 17, 2009, voters will all receive a blanket primary ballot that includes three Republicans, one Democrat, and one Green. The Republican candidates are fiercely attacking each other and it is extremely unlikely that any one candidate will receive as much as 50% of the vote. So, it is virtually certain that there will be a second election on January 12, 2010, with the top vote-getter from each party on that ballot. The Green Party candidate is Jane Rands, a systems engineer. See this story about the campaign.

I sorry the the Orange County Central Committee of the
American Independent Party is not running a person for the
vacant 72nd Assemble District, but we have been looking
to next year to find interested party members to run for
    the state wide offices first.

Currently we are dealing with a motion that will have a
hearing on March 26, 2010 in the Solano Superior Court
in the case of KING vs ROBINSON. The case deals with
a member of the State Central Committee named James
King who is suing the State Chairman Markham Robinson.

Last year James King sued State Chairman Ed Noonan and
lost. This year Mr. King has sued Mr. Robinson twice.
On November 16th the 1st suit was dismissed by the court
at the request of Mr. King.

Sincerely, Mark Seidenberg, Chairman, Orange County
Central Committee of the American Independent Party.
