Good article by Rich Rubino, but Joe Kennedy would be smart to ignore his advice about mentioning Miami’s Manny Diaz.
Having saddled Miami with a staggering public debt and a skyline literally filled with empty buildings, Diaz’s legacy as mayor — possibly the most profound case of “developers gone wild” since the speculative Florida land boom of the 1920s that plunged the Sunshine State into the Great Depression three years earlier than the rest of the country — is hardly the kind of example an independent or third-party candidate would want to promote.
