[...] From the Ballot Access News Blog: The December 28 issue of the Biloxi, Mississippi, Sun Herald, has this story about Brian Moore’s ongoing lawsuit to settle the exact deadline for candidates to file presidential elector paperwork to be on the ballot. The lawsuit is more than a year old, and is far from being settled. This is apparently the first time that any newspaper in Mississippi has mentioned the case. [...]

The next Hattiesburg mayor's race won't be until 2013. Shawn-- the Harold Stassen of Mississippi-- will likely run for the US House in 2010.

At various times and for various offices, Shawn has run as a Democrat, a Republican, an independent, and under the Reform Party label. His last several races have been as a Democrat (he filed in 2007 for all statewide offices; the Dems only certified him to run for state treasurer. He also filed in 2007 for some nine county offices; I don't think he was allowed to run for any of those). Shawn and his father once ran for the same office, one of them in the Democratic primary, and the other in the Republican primary.

Shawn's latest crusade is for snow cone stands at rest stops.
