Kristin Davis to Run for New York Governor as an Independent

According to this story, Kristin Davis will announce her candidacy as an independent candidate for Governor of New York on March 1. Earlier, Davis had said she would seek the Libertarian Party nomination.

    I’m not sure if this is a good or bad thing! If she polls 50,000 votes does “independent” become ballot qualified?

    the ballot name will be whatever ballot name she picks that is not contested by any of the existing ballot access parties — GOP/DEM/WFP/IPNY/CP as well as several off-limits/ restricted or otherwise “taken” names.
