Maine Democratic Gubernatorial Nominee Will Only Participate in Debates that Invite all Five Candidates

Libby Mitchell, Democratic nominee for Governor of Maine, says she will not participate in any gubernatorial debates that don’t invite all five ballot-listed candidates to participate.  There are three independents on the November ballot, along with the Democratic and Republican nominees.  See this story.  Thanks to Thomas MacMillan for the link.

  1. That is really wonderful that Ms. Mitchell is taking that position. She will probably get many votes just for doing that!

  2. Let’s see if she sticks to this. I have heard similar things from candidates then then participate in ‘forums’ that not all candidates are invited to while always having scheduling conflicts for actual debate that invite all candidates.

  3. If I recall, wasn’t there a five-way debate between Maine’s Gubernatorial candidates last election cycle?
