Draft Bloomberg Group Sets Up Web Page

A group that hopes New York city Mayor Mike Bloomberg will run for President as an independent in 2012 has set up www.runmikerun.com.  The site contains a good collection of you tube videos that show Bloomberg speaking.

Draft Bloomberg Group Sets Up Web Page — 18 Comments

  1. Mike…screw the Constitution and a non-majority Electoral College winner going to a US House vote.

Just win the presidential election outright in the EC!!!!

Oh, and while you are at it…create a viable pragmatic, common sensical, problem solving focused third party to save America from the Democrats and Republicans.

Remember independents are a plurality in this country!

  2. I wonder why people assume that ‘independents’ are somehow a unified political group, who somehow more sensible then Democrats or Republicans?

  3. I wonder why people assume that Republicans are bigoted fascists who are hypocrites on social issues and financial responsibility.

I wonder why people assume that Democrats are socialist, welfare state promoting atheists who eat babies.

  4. Well if he does run he could play spoiler in the electoral college if he could win a couple of states.

  5. Did Hitler have the gift of EVIL speech – to hypnotize lots of MORONS ???

WW II worldwide dead about 70 MILLION.

  6. Bloomberg as President would probably get rid of the Second Amendment.

I will never vote for that gun-grabbing son of a bitch if he actually runs!

  7. I don’t like him either but he could take away votes from Obama if he can win NY which has a large amount of EVs so that could decide the outcome.

  8. Bloomberg could also take votes in California and other states won by Obama and allow the GOP nominee to win those states with a plurality, and thus the Presidency.

For me, the main question is, is there any difference in a “One World Socialist Democrat” and an “Internationalist Globalist Republican?”

    I think not.

  9. To “An Alabama Independent”:

It is difficult to believe that Mayor Michael Bloomberg could win many votes in the Golden State if he does run for president (and I doubt that he will) – even if he could get on the ballot here. What would be his platform? Why would any person want to vote for him? He has made no case for a presidential campaign and I doubt that he ever will do so.

By the way President Barack Obama is not a soc. (abbreviation used here to bypass the Yahoo! censors); he is a capitalist and a centrist Democrat. The Peace and Freedom Party of California is the only party on the ballot here that is soc. Soc.[ism] is written into our platform and principles.

  10. Okay, Phil Sawyer. I’ll reword my recent post and correct it to read, “what is the difference between a “One World Government Democrat” and a “Internationalist Globalist Republican?”

    Ths answer is “none!”

  11. Thank you for your attempted correction, my Alabama friend, but this “One World Government” thing is a puzzle to me. I do not see how the present administration in Washington, D.C. is much different form most previous administrations in that regard. Furthermore, the United Nations is not really strong enough to do a significant amount of good or bad at the present time. I think that if humankind ever does get an official “One World Government,” it will happen naturally and at a relaxed pace. Of course, if that does happen, people will have to be more vigilant than ever about holding on to basic freedoms.

By the way, technically speaking: Mayor Bloomberg is an independent these days (Republican turned Democrat turned independent).

  12. By 2012, The National Popular Vote bill could guarantee the Presidency to the candidate who receives the most popular votes in all 50 states (and DC).

The bill would take effect only when enacted, in identical form, by states possessing a majority of the electoral votes – enough electoral votes to elect a President (270 of 538). When the bill comes into effect, all the electoral votes from those states would be awarded to the presidential candidate who receives the most popular votes in all 50 states (and DC). An election would never be thrown into the House.

The bill has passed 31 state legislative chambers, in 21 small, medium, and large states. It has been enacted by DC, Hawaii, Illinois, New Jersey, Maryland, Massachusetts, and Washington. These seven states possess 76 electoral votes -“28% of the 270 necessary to bring the law into effect.

  13. This site is NOT new, its been around for a couple years. I’ve seen it several times before, and if you scroll waaaaay down and you’ll see links to being able to purchase “Bloomberg 2008” chum. Its a nice-ish design, but the layout is terrible.

Bloomberg would take plenty from both sides… just in the last few days we’ve seen people on both sides of the aisle lamenting that they would be the ones Bloomberg would be the spoiler for, and they are both right. He’d take some from both.

Regardless, he’s been clear that he’s not running this year. We should focus on building the foundation needed for him, or someone like him, to run in 2016 or 2020.

  14. Phil Sawyer. I am at least pleased you acknowlege that a “One World Government” could threaten the basic rights most American citizens now take for granted. Coming from someone of the Peace and Freedom Party, this shows we might have more in common than we have in disagreement.

  15. To “An Alabama Independent” (#17):

You might be interested to know that the Peace and Freedom Party of California strongly supports the right of citizens to keep and bear arms. It is in our platform and principles.

Regarding the “One World Government” thing, if one goes past the United Nations (which is not a very strong organization) and studies other institutions, one can find many instances where the rights of the people have been taken away. One of the best books on this subject, that I have found, is “American Conspiracies” by Jesse Ventura (with Dick Russell). Every single patriotic person in this country should promptly go to his or her favorite book store and purchase a copy of this (if he or she has not already done so). It is a mind blowing adventure, to put it mildly.
