Americans Elect is a new political party that seems on the verge of beginning to qualify itself for the ballot in several states. According to this story, it has just finished the paperwork needed to begin circulating its petition in Michigan.

It will be interesting to see how the development of ballot access plays out in this effort.
The article seems to state that Unity08 ended up nominating Chuck Baldwin for president. I do not think that that is correct. I think that Unity08 just folded up its tent and went home when the going got really tough.
While I do not hold out very much hope for Americans Elect or Unity12, at least there “is a pulse” happening (as Ralph Nader might say).
