Ron Paul Tells New York Times It is “At Least” 50-50 That He Will Run for President in 2012

Ron Paul told the New York Times, in a lengthy interview, that it is “at least 50-50” that he will run for President in 2012.  The story says Paul only got 2% of the vote when he ran in 2008.  This is incorrect.  In the Republican presidential primaries, Paul got 5.6% of the total vote cast in all Republican presidential primaries, placing fourth.  John McCain got 47.3%; Mitt Romney got 21.7%; Mike Huckabee got 20.1%.

  1. Very sorry — BUT — RPs time has passed.

The 2008 McCain-Palin Elephant show was quite senile/airhead enough.

Perhaps Sen. Rand Paul will run for Prez — along with a tough as nails VP – to take on the EVIL deficit Donkeys ???

  2. Don’t anyone get your hopes up about Dr. No leaving the GOP to run as an independent or minor party candidate. In his current position taking on the Fed, Paul won’t want to risk losing his House committee position.

  3. it didnt mention the primary is it possible they were engaging in deceptive journalism reporting his write in votes from the general election while alluding to the primary to make it sound like a small fringe group?

  4. I personally don’t think Congressman Paul will give up his House seat and sub-committee chairmanship and run. But why should he run? Surely there is another “closet Herbert Hoover” who is willing to run and, if elected, would attempt to turn our nation economically back to 1929 which is what most libertarians and Republicans like Ron Paul want to do.

  5. How many States, if any, prevent an incumbent gerrymander Congress monster in either house from running also as a Prez candidate ???
