Tennessee Bill for Presidential Candidate Birth Certificates

On February 7, a bill was introduced in the Tennessee Senate to keep presidential candidates off primary ballots, and also off the general election ballot, unless the national political party submits a birth certificate for such presidential candidate. As noted earlier on this site, there had been somewhat similar bills introduced already this year in ten other states. This is the only bill in any state that puts the responsibility on a national party committee to submit such documents in a presidential primary.

The Tennessee bill, SB 366, does not require independent presidential candidates to file a birth certificate. The bill’s sponsor is Senator Mae Beavers (R-Mount Juliet).

Tennessee Bill for Presidential Candidate Birth Certificates — No Comments

  1. Per usual — IF a birth certificate does NOT have some legal proof of the nation state status of the father, THEN it is worthless regarding citizenship of the child.

    U.S.A. fathers = U.S.A. kids
    FOREIGN fathers = foreign kids

    — WHEREVER the kid is born — in or out of the U.S.A. area.

This stuff AIN’T atomic physics — except for STONE AGE morons with area fixations.

  2. Wrong, demo rep. The status of the parent has nothing to do with the status of the child. Go away, you silly birthr.

  3. Childog

You are incorrect. In the case of Obama it is related to his paternal grandfather who was naturalized in 1919
at Zanzibar. Barack Obama II was born a Subject of the
Sultan of Zanzibar on August 4, 1961.

Remember the British Nationality Act 1948 went into effect on January 1, 1949.

    Sincerely, Mark Seidenberg,
    Vice Chairman, American Independent Party

  4. Any Presdent is the servant of the people. Why should Obama feel like he isn’t accountable to the people he is supposed to represent. States rights allow every state to determine who is qualified to be on the ballot. So Arizona, Tennessee, and Oklahoma may follow through on these laws. All the “Birther” movement is demanding transparency. In Egypt a dictator is forced to resign because the will of the people wanted him gone. Will this happen in America if Obama can’t provide his long form birth certificate with the Physician’s name and signature?

  5. The MORONS on this list should take a few days/weeks and look at the debates in the 39th Congress about the *subject to the jurisdiction thereof* in the first sentence of 14th Amdt, Sec. 1.

Attention MORONS — it took Acts of Congress to even naturalize the surviving American Indian tribe persons to be naturalized U.S.A. citizens in the 1900s.

If any group of U.S.A. / FOREIGN highly pregnant women magically have kids born in the U.S.A. having FOREIGN nation-state fathers, then how and why are such kids magically able to become natural born U.S.A. Citizens ???

Examples – Japanese Empire military fathers during 1941-1945 having kids born within U.S.A. areas — due to RAPES of U.S.A. citizen women.

Too many MORONS on this list to deal with — with their EVIL area fixations ??? — and of course their LOVE for OBAMA — like the LOVE of lots of MORON Germans for Hitler in 1933-1945 ???

  6. Demo Rep, why do you need to resort to insults?

Please refer to any case law, legislation, or any other legally binding source that supports your incorrect assertions. (Here comes Vattel as if he were one of the founding fathers).

The problems with all of the copy-cat bills being introduced is:
    – they assume everyone is born in a hospital – long-form certificate
    – they call for producing a document that cannot be produced by anyone – original; not certified copy
    – they violate Section 1, Article 4 of the US Constitution – full faith and credence
    – they place more restrictions on candidates than does the US Constitution – dual citizenship & residency in the US for the preceding 14 years

It means a soldier who served her/his country overseas may have to sit out four election cycles before becoming a candidate. It means North Korea could pass a law giving citizenship to all US citizens, preventing anyone from being on the TN ballot.

Given the number of previous presidents and vice-presidents with foreign-born parents, why is this issue coming up now?
