Official Returns Released for Last Month’s Massachusetts Special Legislative Election

Massachusetts has released the official returns from the October 18, 2011 special election for State House in the Berkshire Third District. This is the race in which the Green Party nominee came close to winning. The final returns are: Democrat Tricia Farley-Bouvier 1,940; Green Mark Miller 1,748; independent Pam Malumphy 1,325; Republican Mark Jester 899. The winner won with only 32.81% of the vote.

  1. Once again, the Republicans spoil an election! Why won’t these third parties just stop running? We ought to make it hard for third parties like the Republicans to get on the ballot and destroy the purity of the system.

    History note – Gerry of the infamous gerrymander was the Guv of MA in 1812 when he did his INFAMOUS EVIL minority rule gerrymander stuff — which had been going on since the late 1200s — but somehow his name got attached to the election rigging — due to the now famous gerrymander dragon cartoon – now all over the internet.
