They’d better have high validity rates or they aren’t going to make it.

  3. I would assume that’s the Independent American Party that’s been around for years. The Nevada Independent American Party isn’t affiliated with the national party, they’re the state’s Constitution Party affiliate. In 2010 Anthony Zanowic
ran for U.S. Congress in New Jersey under the Independent American label.

    Here’s their Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Independent_American_Party

And here’s their official website: http://www.independentamericanparty.org/

  4. It appears that the New Mexico Independent Party nominated Ralph Nader and petitioned for him in 2008.

  5. I helped with the petitioning for the Greens and at one venue became acquainted with a paid petitioner for the Constitution Party. He was asking folks if they would support getting “an independent party” on the NM Ballot.
Being the sort of person who wishes to see greater choice and wider views in the political fray I told him that I’d sign his if he’d sign mine. That’s how I know that 1) he was an out of state petitioner, 2) he was being paid (not sure if per signature tho), and 3) his page said “Constitution” party.
He upset quite a few people though because they didn’t realize he was representing the Constitution Party. People who signed our petition at the UNM first thought they had signed ours already and then some were aghast when we told them that they probably signed the Constitution Party’s- then they were happy to sign ours quite often especially if they were liberal-leaning as a counteracting measure at the least!!
I think some people thought he was with Nader’s Independent Party, which actually already has ballot access in NM and did not have to petition.

We never encountered anyone from the Independent American Party however.

  8. #3 is Correct, and I spoke with one of their party members down there; they claimed that they have turned in 322 pages, or 5,900 signatures. So if they can get on the ballot there, that would be a major boost for their party.
