On September 6, an Illinois state court put three candidates on the ballot in Jackson County, Illinois. The Jackson County Election Board had kept them off the ballot because their nomination documents had been fastened together with a paper clip. Seriously? This is what election laws have come to in this country? Paperclips? Font-size? What’s next? Not using regulation paper?
Actually, when Ken Blackwell was Secretary of State in Ohio, he instructed election officials to reject some voter registration cards because the paper was too thin.
