Connecticut Newspaper Article About the Two Connecticut Parties that Use Fusion the Most, the Independent Party and the Working Families Party

Published on December 4, 2012, by in General.

The Day, one of the biggest newspapers in eastern Connecticut, has this interesting article about the Independent Party and the Working Families Party. The story has one minor factual error. The Independent Party nominated Ralph Nader in 2008, not 2000.

The Independent party did cross-endorse some Democrats in this election the article seems to suggest that they only endorsed Republicans. In 2010 when the WFP was petitioning for several offices they said that they were going to endorse whoever the Democrats nominated.

If we live in a “two party system” as everybody says, then why can’t voters decide which 2 parties represent us? Give the voters the chance to vote Libertarian and Republican or Democrat and Green or even Libertarian and Green!
