Reince Priebus, national chairman of the Republican Party, continues telling the world that he hopes to have the next Republican national convention in June, instead of late August. See this story. To have the national convention in June requires that states with June presidential primaries move them to an earlier date. In 2012, states that had June presidential primaries were California, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, South Dakota, and Utah. If the Republican Party wants all those states to change their presidential primary dates, the party will be required to persuade many Democratic state legislators to support this idea.
