  1. Lavene’s candidacies do us a favor in that they highlight the real absurdity of the single-member district and its convenience for industrial bases but uselessness for voters. I can appreciate that a candidate would advance a program that is beyond advantaging one region at the expense of others. There’s a windfall of credibility in addressing voters independently, free from implied or explicit subsidies for large economic entities.

    Too bad this guy is a fear-monger.
