Allan Levene Expects to Be on Republican Primary Ballot for U.S. House in Four Different States This Year

This article about Allen Levene, a resident of Georgia, says that he plans to qualify for the Republican primary ballot in four different districts this year: Georgia 11, Hawaii 1, Michigan 14, and Minnesota 6. Thanks to the Center for Competitive Politics for the link.

Lavene’s candidacies do us a favor in that they highlight the real absurdity of the single-member district and its convenience for industrial bases but uselessness for voters. I can appreciate that a candidate would advance a program that is beyond advantaging one region at the expense of others. There’s a windfall of credibility in addressing voters independently, free from implied or explicit subsidies for large economic entities.

Too bad this guy is a fear-monger.
