Independent American Petition for Party Status in Utah Has Enough Valid Signatures

Utah election officials say the Independent American Party petition has enough valid signatures, so that group is now a ballot-qualified party. It joins the Republican, Democratic, Libertarian, and Constitution Parties on the Utah ballot.

Although the Green Party and the Justice Party qualified for Utah status in 2012, neither of them polled enough votes in 2012 to remain on the ballot, and neither of them petitioned for 2014. The deadline has now passed for party petitions. Thanks to Cody Quirk for the news.

  1. See, we are a legitimate third party with a activist base and the means with getting on the ballot the ‘old fashioned way’.

This is just the start, as we intend to get on in more states to come 😉

  2. Yes- for one we don’t harbor religious extremists, are actually constitutionalist, and our leaders put principle above politics.

  3. How is a political party that wants to restore constitutional government, protect our traditional/moral values in a constitutional manner, and also protecting & restoring American jobs- the Libertarian Party?

  4. I admire your guys’ efforts. Congrats on getting on the ballot. I still think you guys should merge with the LP and try to change a relatively likeminded party more towards your liking instead of splitting the conservative/libertarian third party vote more, but whatever. 🙂

  5. There are too many stark differences between us and the LP, including the social & economic issues.

However there will be times where we will work together and politically coordinate when it’s beneficial to the both of us.

  6. This American Independent Party or whatever they are, must be living in a fantasy world when they claim to have ballot access in Arizona. Only four political parties have ballot acsess in Arizona; the Democrat, Republican, Libertarian and Americans Elect. The last time the American Independent was on the ballot in Arizona was in 1976 with the segregationist candidate for president, Lester Maddox, who recieved only 85 votes.

  7. FYI, the AIP that ran Lester Maddox used to be affiliated with the CP until 2008.

And we are the ‘Independent American Party’- please get the title right.
