On September 6, an NBC/Marist Poll was released for Kentucky Senate. The results: Republican McConnell 47%; Democrat Grimes 39%; Libertarian Patterson 8%; undecided 6%. Although I am away from home for a 3-week vacation and can’t check the records, my memory tells me that no minor party or independent candidate for U.S. Senate has ever polled as much as 8% in Kentucky. Thirty political candidates in a “Mock Unity Coalition” are organized through email under the unifying all party (and independents) voting system of pure American proportional representation (PR).
They’re headed up by anti-corruption candidate AKA “Mr. Prime Minister” Ron Gold [Republican] for State Attorney General and tax fighter Greg Conlon [Republican] for State Treasurer.
The collection of political candidates has a plan; Call on Republican, Democratic and independent voters to support the three independent candidates for Congress in congressional districts 5, 20 and 28 (Napa, Monterey and Los Angeles), and in exchange ask those same Republican, Democratic and independent voters for support in their own districts.

Congratulations to David Patterson and Kentucky Libertarians for a great poll showing!
Can somebody tell me what this USParliament thing being promoted by someone called James Ogle. Apparently his email address does not work as I could not get my email to him to go through. While there may be some “good fun” to be had by participating in this what appears to be a “game,” I do not agree with a World Parliament. I am opposed to even the United Nations and suggest it be moved out side of U.S. Borders. Somewhere over in Iraq or Iran would be a good place for the United Nations to be headquartered – and with no U.S. support – monetary or otherwise.
Well, if the Libertarian candidate David Patterson would run a populist style campaign such as the late Governor A.B. “Happy” Chandler might have ran, his numbers in the polls might start rising. But I have not doubt he is running on a platform of opposing Social Security and Medicare and urging the people of Kentucky to be content in living back in the late 1700’s. And I’m afraid the vote he will finally get in November, will be the message from the people of Kentucky telling him “that there is no way in hell they are going back to live in the 1700’s.”

In regards to the new International Parliament, well that’s just a web page where people may vote using pure proportional representation (PR) from anywhere in the world as a single at-large district; earth. It has given us a way to connect with people internationally and that generates interest and good conversations with people around the world.

The best performance appears to be by a Progressive candidate in 1914 (the first popular election) at 4.15%.
About 3/5 of the elections 20/34 there were no 3rd party candidates and only 7 challengers have topped 1%.
