U.S. Supreme Court, by Vote of 5-4, Blocks Early Voting in First Week of October in Ohio

On September 29, the U.S. Supreme Court, by a vote of 5-4, blocked last week’s Sixth Circuit order which told Ohio to let voters cast “early votes” during the first week of October. See this Scotusblog story.

U.S. Supreme Court, by Vote of 5-4, Blocks Early Voting in First Week of October in Ohio — 4 Comments

  1. How UNSTABLE are the USA and State regimes ??? —

due to the SCOTUS nonstop mystifications and perversions o the nearly DEAD 1787 U.S.A. Constitution —

esp. in ALL election LAW cases since 1789 ???
    —-
The SCOTUS robots will likely be writing a bit about the 2000 Bush v. Gore JUNK opinion — hopefully to overrule the MORON comments in it about election LAW and the Equal Protection Clause.

  2. I agree with the Supreme Court on this one. While I have no problem with a certain amount of early voting (if such is to be allowed), it is the responsiblity of all “responsible” voters to know when they may vote. This ruling will help to cut down on the party bosses and political machines from loading up uninfomed voters, hauling them to the polls with instructions to vote a certain way.

Also, most – and I assume all – states have provisions for absentee voting. There is no sense in allowing voters to vote 1 month before the election. I believe all have the right to vote, but again, there is such as thing as being a responsible voter.

  3. Oregon manages to have been surviving with ALL paper ballots via USA snail mail for about 16 years.

New Age polling places on election days are just more epidemic centers to catch diseases.
