The Florida League of Women Voters has published a Voters Guide, and it contains questions for the Democratic and Republican nominees for Governor and Attorney General, and their responses. It does not mention the Libertarian nominees for those offices, even though the Libertarian nominee for Governor, Adrian Wyllie, has been recently polling at 10%, and even though the Libertarian nominee for Attorney General is one of only three candidates on the ballot (the gubernatorial race also has two independent candidates).
See this story, which is mainly about the failure of any Florida debate sponsors to invite Wyllie into any debate. The commentary is by Michelle Ertel, political analyst for Channel 13 News. The article contains a link to the League’s Voters Guide, which says, “all candidates have been given the same word limit”, an untrue statement since some candidates have been given a zero-word limit.

The League of Women Voters proclaims itself as “nonpartisan” and an “independent” entity but never has been anything but a supporter of the 2 big (Democratic & Republican) parties. It has never been fair – much less favorable – to any minority party or independents.
Gene: I cannot remember when they have ever supported a Republican. I think what you meant, was “they are a supporter of the so called two party system.”

They support both Republicans and Democrats to the extent that they support these 2 parties being in debates and no others!
Yes it resonates. Only people don’t know he is running. Hard to run when you have no money compared to tens of millions not to mention not being part of the debate.

Yes, I know Obama carried Florida in 2008 and 2012, but the GOP still holds a majority of the state-wide offices and a majority of the Legislative seats.
This being the case, I hardly think Wyllie’s views resonate with the majority of the voters of Florida.
Gene: You are also correct here. Not only does the LWV support only a 2 party system, but also only a 2 party debate.
If, for example, the GOP was replaced by the Libertarian Party, they would still support a 2 party system of only Democrats and Libertarians, and debates consisting of only Democrats and Libertarians.
BRAZEN HYPOCRITES!! Their Morgantown, WV chapter has a whole paragraph with two sentences talking about how they won’t participate in events which exclude “third party” candidates, but on the exact same web page discussing their upcoming candidate forum, they blatantly HAVE NOT INVITED Constitution Party State Senate, 2nd candidate Jeffrey Frank Jarrell, or Harry Bertram, American Freedom Party candidate for State Senate 13th. Must be that each LWV chapter has a degree of “independence” when it comes to debates. But have to also agree that it appears “hypocritical” if they have not invited some of the candidates you named.
Either invite them or not invite them. They should be consistent in practice as well as policy.
