Taiwan Green Party Wins its First Elections — 5 Comments

  1. It appears the Green Party is eventually going to become a world-wide party. For the conspiracy theorists, they may be the one-world party which brings into existence one world government. For those who see such in Prophecy, it is understandable how such could be interpreted from this Scripture:

“They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator–who is forever praised. Amen.(Romans 1:25)

Is not the main theory of Green doctrine centered around the preservation of the environment? Correct me if I am in error.

  2. You’d be in error. Ecology is not interchangeable with the environment and many Green Parties believe in decentralization. In Europe some Green Parties were opposed to joining the EU.

Having a common problem doesn’t not equate to one world government and, in fact, the Greens generally tend towards local control.

  3. While I definitely agree more with GreenGenes’ assessment…I think the biblical verse would apply much more accurately to politicians similar in nature to Bush and Obama, who lie and who tend to encourage worship of created things (especially money, which is a human invention rather than a natural/divine invention such as the environment). Since the US government is dominated by such politicians, and has had global influence for decades (which includes overthrowing foreign governments they don’t like and setting up ones they do like), it could be argued that the Democratic and Republican parties are the ones threatening to unleash a corrupt one-world government.

  4. I support the Green Party largely because of their strong support for environmental protection and social justice. It never ceases to amaze me how the bizarre fundamentalist Christian Right can find some basis to tie the modern world and its challenges with their paranoid ancient fables and myths. Climate change is not in the Bible, it’s a real problem that requires international global cooperation by governments to solve. That’s just a fact, not an ideological statement or religious belief.

  5. Well, world government or not (which is a stretch when it comes to the Greens) some of these parties at least have been initiated by rather conservative forces to get certain critics off their backs and, so they seem to have originally thought, organize them away into oblivion. Only they rebounded eventually …
