Burlington, Vermont, Holds City Election

On March 3, Burlington, Vermont, held its election for city office. The Democratic nominee for Mayor was re-elected, defeating the Progressive Party nominee, the Libertarian nominee, and an independent candidate. The new city council has 4 Democrats, 4 Progressives, 3 independents, and one Republican. See this story.

  1. The Libertarian Party cannot continue their current direction and expect to wins elections.

    It’s too bad Richard Winger wasn’t recognized for his strong support for the mathematically perfect, inclusive and unifying voting system of pure proportional representation (PR).

    We’ve seen twenty years of lost time, missed opportunities and water under under the bridge for the team.

    Fortunately, we have our allies at Independent Voter Network who are on the right track for independents and people interested in a third alternative in the two-party system in partisan and non-partisan elections alike.
